We have a plugin on wpmu that removes many of these callouts. Not sure if it gets all of them though:

And they trotted out Donncha for a response. They must give it some weight for them to trot out a 1st or 2nd level employee instead of one of their new hires.

My response since I have a feeling that they'll edit it:

bbPress will become a registered trademark under the WordPress Foundation.

Matt said a couple of times that he was going to do this with the WordPress name and it wound up being owned by Automattic. (Forgive me for not giving links but the Trademark lookup I use doesn't produce usable URLs that can be copied and pasted.) I wouldn't be surprised to see if this is the case yet again.

Matt has chased away folks from WordPress projects before. I wouldn't be surprised that this was the case with these folks as well. He's also done this on the WPMu forums as well. Right now there's only a single main supporter answering forum questions with maybe 2 or 3 pitching in on occasion. Most folks have moved over to the WPMUdev.org Premium forums where folks are more willing to help each other without the overpowering shadow of stepping on Matt's toes.

Gotta agree with SimplePress being a lot more complete than bbPress but I believe that was the point of the software. bbPress was supposed to be fairly simple while SimplePress is marketed as a full features forum plugin.

Until Automattic comes out with a truly revolutionary forum software, I'm sticking with phpBB -- I only wish it had a plug & play plugin system like WordPress does; core file modification is so five years ago.

For what it's worth the complainant was being selective with the truth. The comments were not permanently removed simply unapproved until the owner was asked - not told - to remove the one issue. What was remaining was not an issue. He then spun it out. As for seeing it coming I can see your point and that sort of approach has been used before but he was also hassling us out of the forum despite numerous detailed responses. I do not think I was unreasonable on this one and it was entirely me who handled it. And yes I know posting here will attract more replies to this reply but you made a point and I wanted to answer it.

Nano. I'm almost 34k. First time and I'm quite enjoying it. But mine is easy - it's a shot at a bio. Sounds ego maybe but the reasoning behind it is sound enough.

It's a Mills and Boon medical romance. Unfortunately a) I found out a few days ago that somebody has already written one with the same plot and b) I am not even at the 20k mark yet. I think there is an all-nighter in my near future.
