Were you wondering why the 2.0.2 announcement suddenly reappeared on your dashboard? This is why.
‘Lack of communication’, apparently. It’s amazing how some people can code PHP yet struggle with email.

Y’know, I kinda have a problem with someone who comes up with a little potential (maybe kinda sorta might be a problem someday) XSS situation wanting credit….
*shrug* I just have a real funny feeling about that sort of gimme….
I agree however that some folks don’t seem to have basic, simple communication skills. I think it’s part of being a 20something male gknurd….

I know linkbacks are eeeeevil but if somebody’s patch is a vital component of a new release it’s not unreasonable to want to be credited, regardless of who you are or what your motives might be.
The worry is that if the devs continue to treat security patches and warnings in this cavalier way, people are going to go direct to the security mailing lists rather than hang around on IRC begging for acknowledgement. Cue mass panic on the forums. But then, I guess that’s not their problem.

Yeah, they’re really fairly “blind” in that direction (the forum, I mean). The poor folks who volunteer are the ones that take the heat there….
