puts on killjoy hat again

I haven’t bothered mentioning WordCamp since geek conferences are of no interest to anyone other than the geeks who attend them.

I am, though, wondering who’s going to be looking after the place while the entire staff’s eating BBQ.

Maybe the women can take over and do some cleanup?😀

Me an’ Dr Mike as we can’t afford to get to the conference.😉

If you break it we can’t fix it, but hell, it’s only one day and then Matt’ll be back anyway………

Building on Andrea’s idea I find the idea of a ladies 24 hour clean sweep well, appealing. Perhaps that’s because I’ve always had an affinity with brooms and an strong affection for flying.😉

Write about how they implemented the first 2% of the new WordPress admin theme in the WordPress.com login page.

I think you’ll find that’s already been covered in the news blog.

Also, the word ‘please’ never goes amiss😉

wow, ordering people to blog, that’s a new one.

nonetheless, i am amused that the shuttle that wasn’t is the shuttle that is, rather than the shuttle that was supposed to be. but then, my brain is small enough to be amused by a man in a crate.

I imagine that was Matt’s decision. Whether this was because he wanted to throw Kubrick Guy a bone or whether it was because the other mockup sucked is not for me to say.

heh – Sorry about my rudeness. Also, I must be completely desensitized to the flurry of information on my dashboard to have missed the news post🙂

Boy I love that new login screen, if you enter the wrong credentials, an error message appears which pushes the button down *underneath* the “Lost Password” link. Very professional done you guys, congratz!

Spooky, I just sent a feedback about that today. They say a fix is on the way, but nonetheless the failure to test the page before rolling it out across the servers is a little worrying…

A run down of what’s new in WordPress 2.1 – straight from Wordcamp. Looks like the feature packed release we’ve all been holding out for, yay!

The login page is hardly the first admin change inspired by the unofficial Shuttle project. WordPress 2.0’s whole “blueness” came from their ideas, and that went into core in November or so.

Also, keep in mind that Shuttle was unofficial, never had a guarantee of total or even partial inclusion, and that the group only produced mockups… pictures. A lot of people got the idea that all the work and the PHP and the CSS and the HTML and the JavaScript was done, when none of it was done. The Shuttle group also never settled on one set of mockups… there were several.

The good news is that Brian Veloso is on board at Automattic… a very talented guy with a keen eye for design, so I anticipate that the pace will be quickened towards a prettier WordPress admin.
